Finlay Bertram

Founder, inventor & CEO

Finlay Bertram is a strategic and commercially astute AI & Digital native with over 10 years of experience driving innovation, particularly within the complex energy sector. His expertise lies in leveraging cutting-edge AI, including Machine Learning, LLMs, and NLP, alongside High-Performance Computing (HPC) on cloud platforms like Azure and GCP, to deliver tangible business value.  

Finlay has a proven track record of developing and deploying impactful AI solutions. He developed an LLM-powered RAG chatbot, designed cloud-enabled HPC environments, and has held multiple patents, notably Talos’ patented a transient physics AI solver which achieved significant speed increase in engineering simulations, deploying it successfully on GCP. He has also previosuly patented an ML approach to well design and an Environmentally Friendly Epoxy.  

Combining deep technical knowledge (Python, SQL, C++, Reservoir Simulation) with strong leadership, project management, and financial modelling skills, Finlay excels in translating complex data into actionable strategies. His background spans roles in major corporations like Total Energies, Maersk, management consulting at PA Consulting, and founding Talos Innovation.

Henry Menkiti

Henry Menkiti

Henry spent 27 years at Schlumberger Limited in a succession of senior leadership positions in Exploration & Production – including Vice President of Schlumberger interpretation services and world-wide Vice President of Schlumberger’s Reservoir Characterization Group. He was also part of the core management team for Schlumberger E&P initiative (SPM). Earlier in his career at Schlumberger, he held various Field & Management positions including Domain Manager at Wireline Headquarters & roles in Seismic Operations.

More recently, Henry is currently CEO of Pillar E&P, was previously COO of Sahara E&P, VP Business Development for LYTT, an Upstream subsidiary of BP. He has also been involved in Business Consulting across North America, Latin America, Europe and West Africa.

Diego Evans

Diego is experienced in the origination and evaluation of positive-impact ventures, international negotiations, business development, and the maturation of capital-intensive projects. He has led the business development of city-scale renewable heat projects, and directed a number of front-end integrated studies for oil and gas treatment plants, and critical infrastructure systems.

Additionally, Diego has extensive experience advising deep-tech Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage (CCUS), and circular economy startups, screening and analysing decarbonisation options for heavy fuel power plants in Africa.

Alwin has over 30 years of experience across consulting organisations, where he successfully led multiple high-profile global digital transformation and data science projects in financial services, education, and business services. Prior to joining PA Consulting as Global Head of AI, Alwin co-founded the Data Science Institute to drive business insights from big data. He is also a visiting professor at the Imperial College's Centre for Digital Transformation as well as a Board Advisor to several early-stage AI start-ups.

Jeff works at the intersection of technology, AI, and philanthropy. After nearly a decade with the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and its Discovery, Democracy, and 100&Change programs, he co-founded Lever for Change, a philanthropic services organisation that has driven nearly $3 billion in charitable giving.

Prior to MacArthur, Jeff worked for organisations focused on digital innovation, including the Internet Archive, the Netherlands Institute of Sound and Vision, and UC Berkeley’s School of Information Management and Systems.

He currently serves on the boards of the Kahle/Austin Foundation, which supports universal access to knowledge, Invest in Open Infrastructure, which supports funding for public interest software, and Better World Libraries, which supports access to printed books. As a joint inventor, he holds five U.S. patents related to information management, and has published in the Chronicle of Philanthropy, Stanford Social Innovation Review, The Nation, the Journal of Digital Information, The New Scientist, and Release 1.0. He divides his time between the U.S. and Europe.
